Mistral

Mistral AI launched Mistral Large 4, a 1-trillion-parameter multimodal model with 49 billion active parameters, in public preview, with open weights promised after safety testing.

Mistral AI has unveiled Robostral Navigate, its first robotics model: an 8-billion-parameter navigation system that guides wheeled, legged, and flying robots with one RGB camera and language instructions, scoring 76.6% on the R2R-CE benchmark in unseen environments.

Mistral rebranded its Le Chat assistant as Vibe, a single agent spanning Work Mode for office tasks and Code Mode for remote coding.

Mistral released Medium 3.5, a dense 128B open-weight model with a 256k context window that consolidates Medium 3.1, Magistral, and Devstral 2 under a Modified MIT license, with a per-query reasoning toggle.

Mistral releases Small 4, a 119B-parameter open-weight model under Apache 2.0, and Forge, an enterprise platform for training custom models on proprietary data, as open-weight AI closes to within three months of frontier systems.
